915 with oil cooler - wish I were still in Germany

Seems to be the real deal: A 915 with oil cooler on Ebay.de but the seller only ships to Europe. Bummer.

Go for it! They are few and far between on this side of the pond. My Deutsche is rusty but I see no mention of LSD

Five days left and already at 765Euro, US$/Euro rate in the tank, maybe no LSD, shipping costs...

I don't know if I would come out ahead of that. What do you think it's worth considering that one would factor in a moderate rebuilt with new syncros at 500$ in parts?

Rebuilt lsd versions of that tran seem to go for ~$2.5k unrebuilt non lsd versions seem to go for ~$1k when available. Haven't seen one in about a year it was a non lsd owned by a racer that had also used it behind his turbo(no thanks). Maybe Harold could scrounge one up for you?

I could have it picked up by my brother but then again I need to get it to the U.S. That'll be $$. I asked the seller about the LSD. Let's see

I have that same tranny in my car. The gears are TALL, but they are good for a narrow car with a big motor. Less smoking of the tires.

Exactly!! I've found it to be perfect for a 3.6 transplant

The 915/67/69/72 w/ cooler as used on '84-86 Carrera models is the ultimate evolution of the 915 trans. As such it is quite desireable.

Send an E-mail to the seller and ask if he will send it to the US. Most likely he will. The more bidders the higher price.

Ingo,

Ship it to a friend in Germany and then bring it back the next time you airline home.

I have a few friends in Berlin there who would hold it for six months if you need someone.

Hey, hows the conversion going? Looking at doing it myself later this week.

I will do it this weekend. Hope it's a two day thing. Pull the old one on Sat and throw the new one in on Sun.

Will stay in touch. Are you going to be using the Patrick throttle cable or what?

I am planning on using a standard 964 cable. One has to shorten the outer mantle and fabricte a little standoff at the tunnel entrance. But the cable was a lot cheaper than PMS. Also, I didn't see it listed on PMS's website anylonger. Can you still get it?

Ingo,

Yes, but for almost $300! I can do a lot of fabrication for that price!
