Couple questions, torsion bars and lift point.

I am wanting to lower the front about an inch or so, basically euro ride height. 79' SC

1. If I need to re-index the torsion bars, should I have the adjuster in the middle of the adjustment?

2. Where is a proper jack point to jack up just the front end? I have the jack pad that goes in the rocker lift point but I just want to raise the front to do the torsion bars.

3. Also, will I be able to re-index the front torsion bars with the jack stands under the front control arm bracket?

1. If I need to re-index the torsion bars, should I have the adjuster in the middle of the adjustment? It doesn't really matter. You're just popping the cap off and leaving more space between the adjuster bolt and frame.

2. Where is a proper jack point to jack up just the front end? I have the jack pad that goes in the rocker lift point but I just want to raise the front to do the torsion bars. I've used a 2x4 spanning the AC condenser shield and tow hooks. Not perfect but the front end is pretty light.

3. Also, will I be able to re-index the front torsion bars with the jack stands under the front control arm bracket? Yes

Are you only lowering the front and not the rear?

Thank you, I am lowering the rear to match the front but I'm fairly confident on doing it, I have the Porsche tool for adjusting the spring plates and they look centered so I should have enough adjustment.

It's very unlikely you'll be able to get the rears low enough to match the fronts without re-indexing them, unless you're okay running a lot of rake on the car.

These posts show jacking support locations that work well.

To lift the back, jack at or just inboard of the stock lift point, place the stand u under the t bar tube near the outer end. Do the same on the other side.

Repeat to the necessary height

Here is the car on 4 stands using a similar procedure
This drawing by Icemaster updates Bill drawing above to show locations for supports (the O's) but you will be hard pressed to put a jack on these points.
