Dash air leaks
Recently noticed LARGE amounts of cold, oustide air getting through the dash around the glove compartment and the dash vents, especially at +75 mph. This seems to explain the apparent hot air getting into the cab during the summer. Is this normal and can I fix it by sealing around the various things that are leaking? Note that it's NOT coming through the vents but from the small gaps AROUND the vents. The amount of air coming in from around the glove box alone is staggering.
TIA,

Yup, I've got that too. I had to stop driving the car last weekend because it was so cold out the amount of heat I could put out just wasn't helping with the amount of cold air coming in.
I get a *huge* draft out of the vent in the center of my dash. Aparently my whole trunk is pressurized when the car is moving, because every little hole under the dash into there blows a very strong stream of frigid air as well. I've had some luck using duct tape to seal off things, but I've had no luck with the draft thats coming from around the center vent.

This happened to me one day last winter. Upon checking, I noticed the trunk was not latched all the way. I would check / redo the weather stripping around the front edge of the trunk, and maybe the lights / bumper.

That's how I know I've forgotten to latch the trunk lid.

The front trunk lid is not sealing, I had the same thing, adjusted the lid down a tad and that fixed it, or you may need a new seal.

Thanks for the replies...I had not thought about the loose trunk but the seal looks very good. I'll make sure it's closed and give it another test. I was thinking it had something to do with the narrow vent at the back of the hood lid, just below the windshield.

Hood seal and the vent seal. I did both. I also noticed that the fresh air box that the vent seal is attached to, was not tight. If you remove the two screws that hold the cover and screen on, you will see two more screws that are holding the box to the car. I removed the box, replaced the seal and tightened it back up again, tighter this time. Now leaks. Well, accept for that dang windshield seal! "wind in my hair" as Rush says!
