pull trans. + push fork and bearing
I was just thinking - that's right, get ready...
would it be possible to modify a pull transmission by combining a push shift fork and accompanying bearing to mate with a push type of clutch - and still be able to shift? It seems like the shift fork holes are similar (pull = bolt, push = allen & knob - for lack of a better word). Just drill the rest of the knob out, then use the bolt (from the pull trans) with the push bearing. All while modifying the cable with some sort of U-turn accomodating the push vs. pull variance? Oh, they're slightly different lengths but nothing that seemed major Could that work (or is it off to the clutch page sponsored by our host)? I know the push/pull has been covered before but I didn't see anything with these specifics. Has anybody ever done this? Thanks again,
