Bumpers and approach/departure angles?
Does anyone know which bumpers have the best approach and departure angles? My 964-replica bumper is getting trashed, and I'm looking at my options - back to SC bumpers? Longnose conversion? Or does the 964 have the "good" approach angle and I just need to Safari my car?

You'll be hard-pressed to beat the approach angle of a standard impact bumper...except maybe by a tucked impact bumper.

My 1985 911 has the stock European ride height, and 17 inch Euromiester wheels and I still have to go in and out of my driveway at an angle. If I have a full tank of gas, and a passenger it is a careful exit to not drag the skid blocks I have on the front torsion bars. I never scrape the front valance.
Coming back I still have to hit the driveway and an angle, and slowly or the tailpipe will drag just a touch. When I had the factory real Fuchs 15 inch wheels on it and the more modern low profile tires I had a real problem getting in and out of many gas station parking lots. Now commercial lots are easy. ![]()
