Jenvey Heritage Throttle Bodies

Cool. It's about time. They aren't cheap.

Interesting, a fuel injection throttle body that looks like a carb.

So. Much. Want.

And I just wrapped up an RHD ITB build. Sigh.

It really does look like a set of carbies. I even see something like an accelerator pump. Is the tps hidden within the throttles or maybe just on the backside?
I'm sure they are spendy but they do look loads better than the billet machined setups.

I guess beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I like the clean look of the JSR roller barrel ITBs or even the busier AT Power ITBs over something that looks like carbs.

I guess I don't get it. If I required period looks for a car I would also want period correct parts. I am not going to put these ITBs and an ECU to control them in a period correct car. If I have a car that does not need to be period correct, there is no way I buying these crazy looking ITBs.

But that may just be me....

I looked at these but could not find much information at all. The injectors are buried in the bodies I guess. Would love to see some more detailed drawings or videos, the website is pretty sparse.

I guess you missed the whole "Singer" thing then.

I'm looking around for a throttle body EFI system and since I just missed the last of the PMO production am not liking what I am seeing. I'm searching for a 'classic' look with spaceship operation, not spaceship looks.

Nope. Not a Singer fan. Way too much money for what you get.

The AT Power ITBs are great…they look good and perform extremely well. Plus, you can get them with DBW, cable, and rod linkage versions to meet any need. Plus, Porsche Factory ITBs look nothing like carbs….

The sidedraft version has been around for a while and the blokes at retropower continually install them on their excellent projects.

The downdraft (IDA?) version is likely very similar to the sidedraft DCOE version. I grew up lusting after DCOE carbs so these strike a chord with me. Injectors are held in place by the cover and there is a TPS buried in there somewhere too. There are electrical plugs coming out the bottom of the DCOE versions, not sure how that works with the triple barrel downdrafts.

I always wanted a set of PMO ITB's - I just love 'em. I was lucky enough to find a lightly used set in the classified for my impending 3.4 build. For me there's no replacing the look of the watershield air filters.

I read here on the forum that PMO was purchased by EMPI so hopefully they will resume production sometime soon.

Mfi ftw!!!

If it comes down to looks(and killer performance), to my eye there is NOTHING with as much functional beauty as the factory MFI system:

Works on bigger motors too!

I'll admit to being partial to MFI, I hope to convert my vintage race 911 to MFI once I get the new engine sorted. The carb lookalikes are an interesting idea. I'll pass, but apparently others like the idea.

Makes no sense to go through all the design effort in hiding injectors…only to mount coil packs in immediate view…

MFI FTW!!!

Jonny, I couldn’t agree with you more. That is precisely why I went with the PMO ITB’s while they were still available a couple of years ago. I wanted the look of carbs in my early long hood that has a 3.2 motor transplant when i had the motronic injection replaced.

Best of both worlds? haha.

EFI on MFI stacks. Blends nicely with vintage look. Not entirely hidden but pretty close.

I do agree!! Best of both worlds!

One thing about the MFI parts (even when converted to EFI) is they are REALLY light. I'm surprised more people aren't doing exactly as Jamie is doing.

I was taken aback by the weight of the PMO manifolds, ITB's, and the watershield air cleaners as an assembly. Pretty sure if you add up all the heft they would come close to outweighing an MFI system, pump and all.

Not if you buy a better ITB setup. The PMO ITBs are not that great. The AT Power ITBs are quite light. Of course, they don't look like they were designed and built in the 70's.....

If you like that “Made in China” look, I am sure the AT throttle bodies are great and I am sure they perform well. For me, the PMO/MFI look is timeless. Might be a little heavier, not a straight shot into the heads and might not perform quite as well. But they do look correct in the engine bay of an air cooled 911. AT/RHD, not so much.

Made in China? They are made in the land of F1 manufacturers…England. They are well designed, handsome, and well made. The shaftless butterfly design is much better than what PMO has to offer. But, if you have to have that carb look…not MFI look…get the PMOs are these Jenveys…
