Can someone please tell me if the engine tin retainer (aka cylinder baffle spring, aka leaf spring) was originally painted or plated? Part number: 930-106-228-00

They were not plated. I believe they were possibly oxide or raw. I’ve seen a lot of these things and there’s never any old paint left if they were painted

All the one's I've seen that have been "run" have peeling. Suggests to me they were coated as opposed to plated. Is only a guess but am inclined to think the parts I saw were original.

I did a slightly higher temp powder coating. I thought it would be too hot but the coater has done it for several other 911s without issue. Probably it will discolor but that's no big deal considering the location.
