Got my 993!!!!

Just brought her home from Pittsburgh. She's a '96 C2, 29.7k miles, concourse condition, Fabspeed exhaust, lowered on H&R springs, just gorgeous. Life is very good these days.

Anyone wanna buy my old Carrera?

You all knew this was coming - my mods priority list!

Not much left to improve upon here. I've signed a blood oath to not do any mods for 3 mos. from yesterday. So I expect by Labor Day I'll be getting busy again with this one. First things first. I don't consider this a mod, so I may do it this Tues - get the headlamp protective covers. I think there might be a tiny bit of condesation in the rear reflector too, so I may need to replace that gasket. Those arent' mods, so it's ok to do them whenever.

First mod - Euro tail lenses - cheap and easy. I think some orange/amber would add a nice contrast. Eventually I think I'm gonna go with the cheapie HID litronic headlights. The stock high beams suck compared to the H4's on my Carrera. I'd love to get some sort of Pelican decal for either the top of my windshield or one of the rear side windows. Brake pads are fine for now, but probably won't make it past a 2-day DE. Eventually, way down the road, I want either Big Reds or titanium calipers. 18" wheels with Yokohama Sports would be nice too, but I'll wait until I've destroyed the front tires I have now, which will probaby be after another set or two of rears. And when it comes clutch time (look out Marc), I think a lightened flywheel and RS clutch kit, maybe a Cyntex chip would work for me. Other than that I think I can live with this car as it is for a while.

I just took a friend for a joy ride in the rain on 66. He almost had to change his shorts. On the way back from the Burgh I got her up to 120mph a few times today. That comes pretty fast in these cars. She was begging fro 160mph, but I just didn't have enough empty road. Geeeze, this car just rocks!!!!

Hey, I still have my Carrera and she kicks a$s too. When she's gone, I'll be kicked out of the easy-to-work-on-car clique. But for now I have the best of both worlds - a G50 Carrera and a Varioram 993. Yeah, my life sucks.
