Brake master cylinder

Hello,

during the weekend I meant to finish my brake upgrade. I have 928 S4 front calipers and 12" VCI front disc in front and 964 front calipers and 930 discs on the rear.

I also have new master cylinder (Mercedes truck ATE part #3.2123-1003.3), but when I put in place, the outer brake fluid feeding line is in direct contact with the rubber on the steering rack. As I know a whole bunch of members here has done the same mod, so how did you solve the question?

Car is 911 Coupe -74.

Why didn't you just use a Turbo MC? Direct bolt on, unless this shares the part number with Mercedes.

The ATE 23mm m/c is a very close fit. I believe that the later al. Carrera style crossmember is highly recommended(if not mandatory) also bump steer rack spacers will help. Are you using a 45&deg or 90&deg adapter at the front feed?

Here is a pic from the archieves;

and another

This one is using metal 90&deg fittings but usually plastic 45 & 90 is supplied w/ the kits.

The turbo m/c is only applicable to boosted installations.

I did 2 things:
1- heat the metal end of the feed line and changed the angle slightly with a tube bender.
2- installed the rack spacers.

Just got in from 2 days of sailing in the rain, my head is still rocking. The feed line is at the top in pic 1 it uses a plastic, non pressure line that fits into a rubber grommet, the 90&deg fitting and rack spacer (and maybe the alloy crossmember) are all that s needed. Ignore the part in my last post about the metal 90 that is a pressure line.
