Throttle linkage through tunnel help.

I had posted last week that my gas pedal had died. And got some great support on ideas to fix the problem.
I took off the pedal cluster cover but everything underneath was ok.
I think there must be a problem farther back through the tunnel, or between there and ??.The pedal is "there", but not much as for as feeling pressure (Tension) I can't accelerate the engine as it is.Looking inside the engine compartment.There is no movement to the linkage other than manually moving it from that point. to accelerate it.
Anyone out there this Holiday weekend that came offer some help?

You'll find that the throttle rod has a rubber joint about a third of the way from the front (pedal end). Even though I have never seen this joint fail, if it has it would act just as you described it. You have to remove the shifter tower to access the joint.

I've got a couple pics here and there, the 110 and the turbo are in varied stages of restoration so not very impressive looking at the moment. They are a lot of fun, everyone seems to have some Corvair experience or story that they like to share. Pics of the Turbo are on the web site if you want to see it.

Actually, if the part that has failed is the rubber isolation element in the throttle linkage it is at the back tunnel wall and is best accessed from underneath the car. See:

Also, one of the ball socket joints could have simply popped off a ball or otherwise come loose. Check the bellcrank on the driver's side of the transmission underneath the car. Cheers, Jim

ditto Jim...buy the new part from our host as it will never fail completely as it's a metal housing holding it all together now. Check the bellcrank on the driver's side of the transmission underneath the car as Jim stated...the linkage is within a black rubber boot.

Are you a dog handler? Just curious. We have had different "big" breeds throughout our marriage, showing them and working them in Tracking and Guard work.
