AC Compressor Belt Deflection
I have new Griffith's AC components on my car, including the Kuehl compressor.
Bentley's specs a 5mm deflection for the alternator belt for SC engines but I haven't been able to find a spec anywhere for the compressor belt. Is 5mm reasonable deflection for the AC belt? Thanks.

I honestly don't think it's that important of a spec. Make it loose enough that the belt doesn't slip on the pulley when the clutch is engaged. I just push on the middle part of the belt with my finger and if it deflects a certain amount I'm fine with it.

Yes just make it reasonably tight. Watch your horizontal deflection as well - lining up the pulleys is important.

Yea, it is hard to define, "tight enough" but not too tight.
It does not need to be cranked tight, and cause bearing wear. Just tight enough to not let the belt slip.
