Which stapler will work

I am going to staple inside door panel to the "wood" door card. Which stapler is suitable to do the job...of course don't want staples to come through and don't want to spend a fortune on a stapler.

Thanks

I used a Porter-Cable 5/8” (the width of the staple top) Upholstery Stapler Model #US58, it’s the pneumatic model. Costs about $100 but I’m sure there’s cheaper ones available including some hand operated ones, which these are only good if you can get good steady pressure on a firm table/surface.
Make sure and measure thickness of both backer and material and use the proper sized staple, they come in varied lengths.

$19 is likely as econo wood puncher as it gets. And this takes a range of staple lengths.

The problem is that 1/4" staples are too long. You really need 5mm or 3/16" staples and those hard really hard to come buy.

The leather was one whole piece. It does not require glue to install, only staples on the backside edges where the leather wraps around. I used 1/4 “ staples and they came though the other side of the backer board. The original staples are a hair less than 1/4” and the replacement staples are 1/4” but the new padding covers the protruding staples tips and are not an issue with the leather. The thread on replacing door backer board is below.

looks good!

you did a nice job...got the same thing going on..and more. Decided to paint the doors while they are stripped, along with the mirrors and power coated the handles.

Is based on the materials that you're working with so only you can sort that out. This stuff is always a matter of testing to determine the "best fit." Maybe you want to bend the open ends of the staples over in which case long ones will be called for. Might be once the staples are in the board, that bond alone is sufficient... and so short staples. Test...test...test.
