Oil thermostat

I have an oil thermostat out of a 1976 2.7 liter 911 motor. The engine is a california motor. Is the thermostat set to open at 210 degrees rather than 180 for emissions? Pet does not show any different ststs.

I'd expect the thermostat insert is the same worldwide. It depends on wax expanding. Maybe the wax can be chemically modified to expand at different temperatures, but the PET seems pretty good at identifying 49 state vs. California engine parts.

The internal and external thermostats both use the same insert.
