Morning! Is this stl file still available? Link is dead. My 88 930 could use em for sure. Thanks!

Hey Friends - glad folks are mirroring the Door Buffer Parts. I'll see if I can update the original link as I'm considering an iteration based on some feedback.

Here is another part for you all to make..I have a '83 SC, I removed all the old AC junk on the car including the blower tube for the top center outlet in the middle the dash. I sure could use a cubby box in that spot to hold my phone or some cigars.

On my 3.2 turbo conversion I wanted to get outside cold air into cone filter rather than the hot engine by air. Designed and printed a air filter shroud which now puts the air intake source for the filter right underneath the wing opening. The two inlets are designed to allow water to pass through the shroud without contaminating the filter. No air restrictions as the openings have the same sq. inch area as the 3” tube going to the turbo. Printed in ABS andbBeen installed for 6 months without any issues. Intake temps pre intercooler cool down a lot faster than without shroud.

Great thread - anybody have a file for the lightbox on a 911 F series fender. Would like to print one to convert a G series fender. Many thanks

Here is one of my later creations.
Air box for my ITB's was too tall, so I printed up new base plates with integrated air horns. Material is PAHT-CF which is good to 140c and tough as all get out, also impervious to gas, oil and other fluids. Pain on both ends of the spinal cord to print out, but the Bambu X1 did it with only one failure. http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1758984993.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1758984993.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1758984993.jpg I also printed up little ABS spring clips to retain the two...making sure that the strand orientation was going in a supportive direction D. |
Beautiful job. Is the black box where you put the ecu?

I always hated that lousy little open air fuse box with those miserable old VW fuses, so I was able to score a 964 fuse box, wire it into my harness and put all manner of things into it including my Kahtec CHMSL flasher and the relevant fuses. ECU lives under the drivers seat, sitting on a 3D printed ABS mount fastened to the seat rail D. |
Nice job! Would you share the file for the base plate?
Did you print it in several sub-sections, or did it fit in the X1? |

There was some plate adhesion issues so I had to put some extra brim on it and the final prints came out fine. Not sure if I would dare using PAHT-CF on an open bed printer, it prints pretty hot and judging from the warping I had, it really wants to make it bow shaped once it gets more than about 5 or 6 mm tall. The PAHT also is not a smooth print, but it sands well and my intent at some point is to sand/high build primer them and then put a nice coat of SEM Trim Black on them so they look good. Yes, I will share the .stl if anyone wants it...and would be willing to print out a set or two if people wanted to buy them, but since I am on the way back home (I spend part time in Canada, part time in Europe) I won't be able to print them up until close to Christmas. Oh yeah, you probably did not see the little ABS clips which snap on and retain the air cleaner. They seem to work well, but we shall see. D. |
I'd be interested in getting your file. I have a P1S (enclosed).
In the latest release of Bambu Studio, they mention a beta version of Helio Additive Optimization, it's available for your X1 but not mine (yet). It's supposed to reduce warping, adhesion and other issues, could be interesting on this kind of print. |
Nice work. I also put an old style MFI air box on my PMO ITB/EFI conversion. It just barely fits.

Would any of you wizards be interested in printing a radio block off plate that also houses a tag heuer stop watch?
