Sun Roof Help

I will explain my situation and see if you can offer any help. 1980SC sun roof opens, perfectly aligned no problem. After opening, it will not close, you can hear the motor running when activating the switch. Wait 10-15 minutes sun roof will start closing and stops when it gets to the wind deflectors but the motor will continue to run and acts like something is slipping as it will not close completely. At this point it wont reopen until waiting for a few minutes then it will open completely but wont start to close until waiting a few minutes. Any thought or ideas to help out. Thanks, Tracy

the best bet would be to inspect the sunroof cables..open it about 10cm..pull down the headliner....unzip the headliner above your head.remove the 2 covers -if you still have them there- remove the gear -2 phillips screws-there is a rubber clutch there too.After remove the cable rail attachments 7-8mm sockets..Lift up gently the sunroof-so you do not scratch it...on each side 2-3 philips screws to remove or lift the rail so you can slide out the sunroof cables...
