'67 911 Throttle Pedal Stuck

I'm having an issue with the throttle pedal on my '67 911 Targa.

When the pedal is fully depressed, the acceleration pedal linkage lever (#24 in diagram) bent and gets jammed under the metal floor of the car, thus locking the throttle fully open and not returning back!

If I bend it back, the throttle linkage is then the only thing limiting the throttle, so it can fully be opened.

However it keeps bending and getting stuck under the floor.

Is there supposed to be something limiting the throttle besides the linkage length itself?

Any ideas for a solution would be greatly appreciated.

Working on getting some photos.

I had the same problem. My bushing was shot on the pivot arm.

A pedal throttle stop will prevent this, also recommend reinforcing the piece as shown;

77 911: throttle stuck open, linkage operates as intended

Shaped a piece of steel to fit the contour and created a small lip for the weld to contact on the bottom. No more danger.
^ This mod keeps the piece from bending and a pedal stop is recommended.

Yep. A few issues compounding here.

1. Worn bushings at pedal cluster supporting throttle bell crank.
2. Bell crank is likely now bent. When you straighten it, the braze joint will crack. Need to weld and reinforce.
3. Your pedal stop on the floor board is missing or not adjusted.
4. Possible linkage mis-adjustment.

I admit that on may cars I Have trimmed the tunnel there so it can not get stuck. And also addressed all of the above.
