Aluminum cross member upgrade
I have a 68 SWB hotrod
Is there an upgrade to install a aluminium cross member over the metal one? Maybe it is stiffer? ![]() I have now this

The aluminum isn't stiffer, but it is lighter.
You can just swap in a later aluminum one. I did on my '68. |

^^^ what Walt said but it's at the bottom of the car (good) and the wrong end to be lightening. As a certified weight freak with a '73 at 2174 lb, I left the steel front bumper on the car to keep it as "balanced" as possible.
