Hot Start Issues '83 3.0
Asked and answered a million times I know, but haven't been able to solve my issues or find something relatable:
1983 SC 3.0 Problems: 1. Cold Start - Turns over, needed to be rev'd at 2500 for about 5 minutes to stay running, after that, drives fine, no issues, idles at about 900. 2. Hot Start - After warm, does not start 5 - 30 minutes after shut down. About an hour later, will start like cold start. Fix #1 1. Replaced fuel filter and fuel accumulator Results: 1. Cold start is much better, starts up, few revs, idle low ~500 rpm, sputters a bit but stays on. A little more gas for 10-15 seconds, can easily drive away no problem. 2. Hot Start - After driving for 15 minutes, turned off car, waited 5 minutes, started right up. Held at 900rpm. Waited 15 more minutes, wouldn't start. Waited another 10 minutes, no start, waited 35 minutes, started but sputtered and died about 10 seconds later (no rev'ing). Any checks or solutions would be greatly appreciated, I've read everything from air/vacuum leaks, increase idle, pull 02 sensors, mass air flow... where should I start? |
