clunking noise at shifter 1987 g50 tranny

getting a clunking noise when shifter handle is moved left and right. shifting is ok, but not as smoother as when new. pulled shifter mechanisn and find only a slight movement at the ball joint cup. will order it as well as coupler rubber at transmission end of shifter lever.

another other things to look for?

also, shifter coupler does not apper to be available. any sources?

Did the ball cup bushing appear to be deteriorating? This is a pretty common issue, but a bit tricky to replace

Shift rod bushing in front, just behind the shifter assembly. Need to remove the shifter to replace it.
