Replacement ICV for a 3.2 source?

In need of an ICV for a mid-80's Montronic 3.2 Everyone is showing the Bosch units 0 28 0140 501 as permanently NLA, including our host. Amaz*n has one of unknown brand for $43, FleaBay one branded "C-Horse" for $143 I'm a cheap-ass so I'm liking the first one if they are both most likely made in China.

Any other sources I should consider?

I got one from Lowe Automobil, a German auto parts company. As I recall, it was relatively affordable (although more expensive than the Chinese stuff on eBay). It seems to work just fine.

Thanks for the tip, just purchased one. Due to the strong USD price was ~$65 shipped from Germany. Not bad if it's a quality part.

It's made in China but then again so are most Bosch parts. I've been running one for a couple years. No issues.

I used the volvo part. I got one from ******** may 2022 for $99 on closeout. It was the Bosh part in a Delco box. ACDELCO 2171837 (217-1837). It works fine in my 84 3.2. Metal is the same colors as original removed.

The Lowes part, emailed them and 3 days later they listed on flea bay:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/155180463307?ViewItem=&item=155180463307
Price is right, get the insurance, it’s cheap.

A warning to other Pelicanites, I ordered the Lowes ICV from MAF Service GmbH in Berlin (https://maf-shop.com/) after hearing from them in a Greasy Fingers video.

The ICV showed up dead on arrival and took 2 weeks of back and forth before they agreed to a replacement, but only after return of the defective one on my dime. Lo and behold, they claimed they never received it even though the package showed as delivered. It was past my credit card dispute period by that point so I was left with no ICV and no help.

Fortunately during that time my OEM Bosch was soaking in carb cleaner and when I put it back in as a last resort, it was back to normal function.

StormWorks, I'm sorry you had that experience, I bought one from them a few months ago and it fixed my issue. I bench tested it with my variable DC power supply and operated perfectly
Apparently they're hit or miss so your mileage may vary.

A thought. I DO NOT know where these units are made, but Ukraine did quite a bit of component work for the German auto parts/components industry. The war in Ukraine has put a damper on their industry. They have transitioned to a war time industry. What it means for us is these manufacturers fill the gaps in the OEM parts chain.
The 0 28 0140 501 ICV is harder to find than 028 150 158 injectors, so it’s actually getting a bit harder to keep these engines going an OEM configuration, for smog reasons. And if these units are made in China, that’s a whole ‘nuther basket of uh-oh. If they are made in India buy 2-3 because their QC is not quite up to snuff.
