Connector for making a jumper to use on relay terminals

Piddly little question, but it’s not as easy to find as I expected. I made a jumper with a switch on it to plug into pins 30 and 87A (going by memory, but it’s in the service manual) of the fuel pump relay terminal so that I can power the fuel pump directly.

I had some 5mm and 4mm bullet terminals from the flaps, so I used the 4mm - too big. Measured the pins on the relay, and they’re 3mm. OK, no problem, just get 3mm bullet Terminals. But those seem to be awfully hard to find. I can find 3mm connectors for RC car apps, but they seem to require soldering. I want crimped connectors. I just Amazoned something that I think might work. But for reference, is there something else I’m not thinking of that will work?

Just take apart a spare relay, gut it out and add your switch to it?

Hm, good idea…if I had a spare relay! How do you break the case?

I just squeezed the regular bullet connectors tighter and they worked fine.

I was having some fueling issues and made up the switched and fused tester shown here. I folded over the wire on itself and soldered a short length near the insulation, leaving the looped end compressible to fit into the female relay socket. I like the idea of using an old relay pin and may upgrade my tester set up.

Hmm, good idea. Same function, but your jumper is a lot more finished-looking than mine! I do have a soldering iron, but it’s got a blunt tip and I don’t trust my skills enough to solder good joints. But for forming a tip like that, no problem. If the bits coming from Amazon don’t work, I’ll try that.
