turn signal dimmer switch issue

So I just rushed through replacing the turn signal dimmer switch in my '81 911SC Targa. My wipers are in the off position but are going on and staying on unless I put downwards pressure on the wiper switch. Thoughts on what I did wrong or broke along the way ?

Intermittent switch is not on, which is what makes this curious. I start the car and the wipers are going.
