Bodywork ? drip rail
Does anyone know what product (seam seal, panel bond or some thing else) was used between the drip rail and the roof?
Thanks |

They didn't use panel bond because it didn't exist in the 70's and 80's.
![]() It is seam sealer. Best thing to replicate what the factory did is use a 2 part "self leveling" seam sealer. It will set up in minutes instead of hours or days like old one part solvent based seam sealer. It is also sandable once cured, so you can further smooth it that way. It requires a special gun to dispense the product. Called a "dual cartridge gun" If you decide to use it do some testing beforehand to see how much it levels. Easy to make a real mess with it if you use too much. Lord Fusor, 3M, SEM, all make high quality 2 part seam sealers. |

The drip rail is an assembly of metal that’s been folded over… there’s all sorts of stuff in the folds- seam sealer, lead….
Take a look at Rennch’a drip rail delete video where he explores what it’s made of. https://youtu.be/dxJyU1yox3w
