AC Evaporator Clean!

After our session this am at Jack's Porsche Palace I finally understood the return side of my AC system. Took someones suggestion and pulled out the triangular return section in the footwell of the pass. side. All the foam was dust so the system is pulling hot air with the cold air from the car. Also, I could see all sorts of dirt/crud on the bottom of the evaporator. There was no way to remove it without disconnecting the system, so I just vacuumed what I could get off then (don't laugh) I sprayed the garden hose through it from the TOP. Made a huge mess but I got a lot of crap out. Now, using a mirror, I can actually see up THROUGH the evap., before it was black. This was after I finally figured out how the get the clips off the top. Basically I "walked" them off using a long screwdriver. Not sure how to get them back on though .
We'll see if this makes much difference. I still plan to add the underbelly cond.
Later
