3.2 Carrera connecting horn question

Hey Guys,

Im changing back to stock steering wheel on
My 85

I removed the aftermarket wheel that had an adapter plate for the horn connectors

There is a wire in the steering wheel column. Does that connect to the horn pad? Or should there be another wire?

I ask because the wire female connector is larger than then male connector on the horn pad

The wire you are looking for is attached to the steering wheel (not pictured). The wire on the wheel is connected to the back of the hub and that rubs the copper strip at the top of your photo. When the pad is pressed on the wheel the circuit is closed and the horn is activated, provided everything else is connected and works.
