How to remove these crimped hose fittings?

How can I remove these crimped connectors without scarring the tube to which they are connected?

These are the hard fuel lines that go up into the engine compartment.

I probably don’t have to mention that it’s tight quarters up in there.

Dremel with a cutoff wheel. Cut a slot thru the collar and use a flat blade screwdriver to pry it open.

Yes, I used a cordless Dremel at real slow speed, slow and steady, cut a line lengthwise along the ridge portion if possible (lessens the chance of cutting through) just deep enough and thin enough so there’s a groove that the screwdriver can dig it and crack it open like a clam. Pliers can help peel away any stubborn portions.

Don´t cut anything. Just unbolt the other end of the hard line in the engine compartment, and remove the entire fuel line.

My uncle, Porsche factory trained master mechanic, owned an independent repair facility for 35+ years and cut countless (hundreds and hundreds) of these factory ferrules off and replaced them with German hose clamps (i.e. non-worm drive / fuel injection clamps).

Different location, same dynamic. I used a Dremel with a flexible shaft attachment...

Of course, the usual disclaimers apply, work in a well ventilated area, try and minimize sparks (slower cut-off wheel speeds) and have some type of fire suppression handy.
