Rear license plate light wiring question

Hello,

I noticed in my 85’ 911,passenger side rear license plate light is not working because it is not connected. The wires in the bumperette are gone, no wires going to the switch

I looked under the car and saw these loose wires hanging. Im wondering if those are for the light switch? They are short, cut just hanging

The license light wires come from the rear tail light harness.
There may be cut off wires in the bundle.
Those ones look like they run to the light.
Find the ones that were cut in the bundle.
Turn on the running lamps and check each with a voltmeter.
One will be hot, the other should be ground.

The wires that feed into the bumper buffers have that amber sheathing on them. The wire bundle should pass into the engine bay just above the bumper shocks iirc. There should be a plug near the the engine support bolts.
