I think I’m going to stick with the weighted silver knob. I like the feel the best.

I'm pretty sure the ID thread on the Rennshift is 3/8-24. I made my own shift knob out of some 1 7/8 in (47.6mm) snooker balls. IIRC the 917 knob is 47mm so mine is reasonably close in feel.

Just a few of the color options.

If anyone wants a red one let me know I've got several to spare.

got the entire set off eBay for around $30. I then just chucked the ball up in the lathe and drilled them to accept a stud threaded to fit the shift lever. Currently running the white, which matched the exterior of my car, but have a brown option if I want to match the interior or black if I want it to look more stock...

My son milled this from a block of aluminum in his High School metal working class. Probably my favorite part of my build.

What an awesome post. Here is mine. I got mine from pelican. But it was the lighter balsa wood. Me being me I decided to get the oil out, stain it. And then polish it. I was hoping to get a wet look and I managed. To do that to some extent.

Also i learnt a lot about wood staining. [emoji23][emoji23]https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...963966f876.jpg

How is the stock 84 shifter knob attached?

This is what happens when you get excited about figuring out a plan, have a couple of glasses of wine, and the credit card is just sitting right, there...without adult supervision.

When working on figuring out the extension, which works well for me, I also pondered that perhaps a new knob would be cool. After many searches and reading, I ended up swapping emails with HotRod Shift Knobs, and apperently, ordered a new shift knob - ER, rather TWO shift knobs.

My beautiful and wonderful 2nd grade teacher wife thinks they are pretty, and then with a furled brow pointed out that I now have 3 shift knobs, and one shifter. She may also have uttered under her breath, "you knob." The only answer is, you are correct and look really pretty today.

I plan to install the black one tomorrow, but like the understated coal colored weighted shift knob as well. Once I settle, will sell the odd knob out.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1674692703.jpg

I made these from walnut flooring. The faceting gives it a nice feel in the hand as well as a "rustic" charm.

I'm a fan of 917-style wood knobs, and I have one that looks good with my brown interior. But I think a Fordite knob would be a neat look.

Since I expect most of you have not heard of Fordite: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fordite
