Question EBC Green Stuff

Searched the archives and only 3 mentions of the EBC Green Stuff pads.

Anybody have any experience with this product as a street/DE pad.

Thanks in advance.

I use them on the front of my car (sr=treet only at the moment). They have improved both hot & cold braking performance IMO. They are Kevlar based so are alloy wheel friendly.

They are quite soft so maybe would wear quickly on the track but I'm not sure. You can get higher speck 'red stuff' pads if this is an issue.

Look.

I have them in the front like Chris. They need some time to warm up but they feel better then stock. Like Chris said they are alloy friendly, i only take a soft cloth to clean the wheels and they look fine again.
I think they produce a little more dust then the stock ones.
Here in Holland they are cheaper then stock aswell so it was an easy choice for me.

I have a couple of friends that have tried them on their 'massaged' Turbo Saabs and found them to be quite 'short lived'.

I had them on my SAAB and my opinion is that they are very good as long as you don't do any "active driving". They grip pretty well and don't eat rotors (being soft and all), but they are waste of money if you plan to do any sort of "inspired driving"...they are just too soft and don't like high temps.

Mine melted and had to be knacked loose from the calipers. I throw them into the bin, fitted car with Textars and never looked back.

Conclusion: "shopping" pads in interesting color...

If you can keep temperatures down low they might offer excellent pedal feel, but we are probably talking extensive plumbing.

Goran i,m not sure, but i thought the question was how they perform on a 911 not on a Saab But point taken i,ll go for the textars next time. Any news from the SC Saab project Goran ?

Cheers,

Ed

Pads are pads. I'm giving you info on how they perform contra Textars and OEM pads on otherwise same rotors. I drove with DON, Greenstuff and Textars, exactly same rotors and calipers.
They grip well, aren't noisy and don't like high temps...SAAB or Porsche....it's still friction...

EBC temselves actually advice against using Greenstuff on track...Redstuff is better in that case, but price creeps up and in that case it's better with Textar or Pagid.

I'm sure they are excellent around town and in normal to fast driving though.

Project 911 2.3 is going along just fine...we are doing heaps of research and combining different parts. We are also expiriencing compact resistance from "traditionalist"-core which is making it even more fun :-)

You can click on a link in my signature to see what's happening...if you didn't config-ed away the signatures in your control-panel. In that case you can go to: http://project911.luminasweden.com and have a look yourself :-)

No probs..

Actually i got into big fight over this on other car-BBS where some youngsters sweared that Greenstuff are best thing since sliced bread so I'm kinda influenced ...

I'l try to dig out pics of my Greenstuff pads...or what was left of them (they were in pieces)

Couldn't find it...found pic of one of those that was fitted to VW Golf that was driven "with inspiration":

Adhesion layer let go so friction material just crumbled away...don't try this at home!
