all of a sudden I have trouble getting the shifter into first & reverse. With the clutch pedal to the floor the reverse gears are still spinning. Does anyone know where to start? Is it the synchros? or as I believe a bad clutch or just out of adjustment. I would appreciate all comments Tx! john |

Well can you with the car stopped and motor running push in the clutch and shift into second and drive?

My first guess would be a combination of worn shift bushings and shift linkage adjustment, but that's all it is, a guess.
Whith the car stopped (engine off) can you get it into first, and if so, how much can you move the shift knob back and forth and side to side? |

That likley rules out the clutch problem and points to 1st and reverse sychros and all the other things that can go bad in the 915 transmission.

I had the entire rubber center of the shift coupler rip apart. That is easy to check. It is under the panel in the center back seat.
