Shift rod bearing bracket location ???

Trying to reinstall the shifter into my 84 911

When installing bearing bracket does it sit on top of the tunnel or below it?

When I took out the shifter the bearing bracket moved so Im not sure of the original position. I checked the Porsche and Bently manuals but they dont show it.

If I put the bracket on top of the tunnel the shifter does not seat all the way down.

When I put it underneath the tunnel the new 6x20 allen head screws I bought dont reach , PET, # 900 067 011 03. The previous owner had bolts in there that clearly were the wrong part. Put the "correct" part does not seem to work either.

Anyone know the correct location?
If its below, anyone know what length screw I need?

TIA

Spent some more time searching here to see if I could find some info. Found a thread where someone had a similar issue and it was because they had a short shifter kit installed.

Since i bought this car at auction I was not sure if it had the factory or short shifter installed. So I did another look into the tunnel and I found this aluminum block. So it appears the PO put in some kind of short shift kit.

Now I need to figure out what hit it was, how it should be installed and if I really want to keep it or not. And if not, I guess I need to figure out how to go back to stock.

But I am learning more about the car as I do all these repairs to fix the previous work
