I'm wanting to refinish and update my Andial Deep sump.
I was thinking about sending this to Jet Hot, as I have had a few exhaust systems done in the past ![]() But I am sure there have been a lot of changes made in the coating industry so any help would be greatly appreciated. I am also going to see if I can update the hoses to Earls. Merry Christmas and thanks in advance. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

For the Cerakote, I would use an oven cured heat dispensing version. The oven cured version is more durable.
That's an interesting deep sump does it use a deeper/longer pickup tube? |

Anyone know the history on these? Is is supposed to help head drain back with the extra tubes to the sump from the return tubes? Seems like a strange piece on a dry sump motor.

Originally was going to use on this, but this one is going into the 914-6GT clone.
![]() When we rebuild my 78 SC, was thinking this would be cool.

It’s good quality aluminum. I would not be to worried about corrosion. All andial applied was black heat paint. Don’t coat the internals and don’t use a coating that will insulate it. It’s supposed too dissipate heat .
We have ours on the 2.3L race motor together with a Glenn Yee Motorsports oil pump. A large reduction of crankcase mist in the 7-9000rpm range. ![]() |

true meaning of Deep Throat Sump
The deep sump came about in the early 80,s in Imsa for the RSR cars.Back then we did not run valve guide seals. The standard oil breather cover was replaced with a fabricated unit that was about 6 inches high with 3 hose fittings. One went to the oil tank and the other 2 were connected to a hose that ran to the collector that installed at a 45 degree angle.Designed to pull crankcase vacuum for more free revving. The oil return tubes dropped the oil to the ANDIAL deep sump. The objective was to keep the oil from building up in the lower valve cover and being sucked through the exhaust guide in a long fast turn.Ran these for about 2 years then IMSA banned them because with a motor with wear it became a mosquito killer and vision behind the car was compromised. It did rev better though.I forget how many inches of vaccum it pulled.Worth a couple of ponies higher up.
