g50 flywheel to 915?
Will the g50 clutch & flywheel mate with the 915 transmission?

Like Richard said, not a simple parts change. To use G50 stuff on a 915 equipped car, you pretty much have to lose the 915 altogether and install the entire G50 stuff from clutch pedal to all the way back to the engine. Not cheap and not practical.
The problem is that the clutch operation is totally different on these transaxles. The 915 uses a cable and lever system that is operated from the bottom of the trans. The G50 uses a hydraulic system with a slave cylinder mounted atop the trans. The exisiting release shaft assembly on the 915 most likely would not work for the G50 pressure plate. I do not think the 915 throw-out/release bearing will fit the G50 pressure plate. You must use the 915 bearing because the G50 bearing is designed to be operated by a different fork than the 915 uses. The G50 stuff uses a 240mm disc which means the pressure plate and flywheel are larger than the 915 stuff (which uses a 225mm disc). Plus, the # of splines in the disc operating sleeve are different when comparing the two discs. The G50 pressure plate also uses a different ring gear setup for the starter and I think the starter is mounted a little more forward on the G50 trans. bellhousing to accommodate this. Not certain though. As you can see there's all sorts of issues that make this swap a no-go. The G50 was a major redesign which involved a lot of changes. And not to just the transaxle! Shifter, pedal subassembly and hydraulics, shift rod and coupler, trans. mount, torsion bar tube and torsion bars, spring plates............... BIG changes.
