Gas gauge wiring

I replaced the gas gauge and I need a wiring diagram with color codes. 83 SC.

Everything works except the gauge lights.

All gauge lights or just that one?
Follow the blue/black wires back to where they all come together. There is a male and female connector that needs to be plugged in. Did you fuse it at the light switch? Maybe it popped?

Just the gas gauge.

Likely the socket or the bulb. Check for 12 volts in the center of the bulb socket
All the gauge illumination sockets are fed by the same source. If the rest are working then it is just the ones to the gauge that have a problem.
They have to be plugged into the gauge to work as the gauge body is ground…

I need to find my Fluke. It's been awhile since that gauge has been working.

I got the gas signal working but the oil level reader is pegged at the top, indicating a dead short.

It should be cooler weather tomorrow. So, I'll find my meter and trace down the shorts.
