3.2 Motronic smoking badly

Was out for a 3 hour cruise on Sunday. Rebuilt 3.2 Motronic with 18000k on the clock. Really reliable. While driving 20 mph thru a small town with traffic noticed large amounts of oil smoke coming out of the car. Thought it was on fire at first. Stopped and it was smoking out the left bank of a dual outlet muffler there was oil dripping from the left heat exchanger/muffler flange. Must need tightening. Towed home then started to pull into the garage. Now both banks are smoking. Idled at 1400 instead of 900/1000. Never been overrevved or overheated. Pulled all the plugs and they’re oil soaked. Doing compression test now. Could this be an oil surge issue from venting?

Exactly. Doesn’t make any sense. Plugs are coated with oil. Compression test in the am just to make sure it’s mechanically solid. Then check the vent hoses.

Was the smoke actually coming out of the exhaust pipe or from the left side heat exchanger?

Out of the pipe. Internal issue.

If oil is suddenly in every cylinder I say it's getting in through the vacuum system. Put a $20 scope off amazon down your inlet manifold to confirm, or open up the throttle plenum.
