track car tire sizes
I track a 1978 911 with 205x16 on the front and 245x16 on the back, Hoozier slicks. Don't think I can fit anything wider on the back, but do have room i think on the front to go up to 225 if I juggle the inner and outer rim halves. Thinking more rubber, more grip. But just on the front which makes me worry about upsetting the front/rear grip balance as the car feels very stable to me, but then I have little experience outside my on little bubble. If oversteer then becomes a problem, go up on the front bar, but am I going in circles. What have you guys found to be a good combination on the G body. Also what camber and toe settings are you using. Car has turbo trailing arms which I think allows you to run slightly less static camber. Torsion bars are 23/31 and RSR shocks and struts. Thanks, Bob

The 911Cup guys run 15s and I'm pretty sure stuff 285s in the back on 9s, not sure about the front - probably 225 or 245. I'm sure that involves some massaging of the fenders.
To answer your question about stagger though, are you happy with the balance of the car with 205/245? If you're finding the car to understeer, larger tires in front makes sense. Otherwise I don't see any value in doing that. You would certainly be able to balance the car with swaybars if you go larger, but you may just wind up with the common issue of lifting an inside front wheel in turns. |

To do that you need front 8ET27 245/40x17 9.5 ET19 275/35x17, don't use 275/40 they are too tall and will require ride height restrictions some lip work will be needed at both ends the trailing arm bolts and oil ine will need to b e relocated it is extremely close on both sides on both ends w/ just a mm or 2 clearance on both sides f/r never seen a 285 on an SC/Carrera or 964, that extra 10mm+/- makes a huge difference
