Wiper mechanism broke....NLA....what to do

So my wiper mechanism broke yesterday. Took the gauges out and saw the long aluminum looking arm just plain wore out and broke off the pivot at the right end.

So what are you all doing for a fix? I'm thinking I could fab up the part with steel or aluminum bar.

Thanks.

Start entering the part number into the Porsche Classic Parts Feedback form.
In fact, do that with EVERY NLA part. I have a whole list that I enter regularly.

https://www.porsche.com/international/accessoriesandservice/classic/genuineparts/notesonavailability/

After two years of doing this weekly, they bought back early 944 dashes.

Does anyone know if longhood wiper assemblies (the "crank arm" in the PET) will fit the g body cars? Part no's are different, but maybe they fit?

This happened to me in my '83 during a downpour on the highway at 80mph - NOT FUN!!! Sorry I'm no help on the part number question, but I was able to find a complete mechanism pretty easily on eBay I think. That was a couple of years ago, but I do see them come up for sale pretty regularly.
