What size speakers in the doors

I'm looking for new front speakers for my SC. I have 4 1/2 inchers in there now. I'd like to replace with 6 1/2 inch Infinity Reference 625.i. Not a bad speaker for $70. Is 6 1/2 too big for up front.

the stock door speakers are 5 1/4".....6.5's can be installed but may require a little triming to get a flush fit.

if you're not afraid to cut you can actually fit an 8" in the front door

Jeff:

I put 6 1/2" speakers in the front and used a spacer ring from Best Buy so that the rear of speaker did not hit any of the window works.

Doesn't look terrible and it is in black so it's hard to see anyway.

I added 6 1/2" MB Quarts and had to do some work. I expanded the door panel and added some sound padding to make sure the speaker did not hit the door sheetmetal. However, this is not ideal since the speaker is not mounted that firmly and the MB Quarts put out a very strong bass.

Thanks guys

I ordered 5 1/4 Blau's last night from Crutchfield. Not the greatest speakers in the world, but not the worst . They're a space holder while I figure out what I want to do with the total system.
