Location of rocker switch for power mirrors

Just picked up an '82 SC in Utah with 157K on the clock and drove her back to Washington. She ran beautifully and I will post some pics of the trip in the near future.

The SC is a wonderful car, quiet, no oiley smell from the heater and decent MPG and a whopping big fuel tank - I am use to 15 gallons.

Anywho. I found on the driver's door the joy stick to adjust the driver's mirror but where is the toggle to control the passenger side?

A couple pics of the mid-life crisis mobile (red sports car for middle aged dude).

Under the dash edge above the ignition.

Yup. The toggle switches the joystick from left to right.

So this is a very old thread, but I am adding on to it because I have the same question - where is that switch to toggle between the mirrors for adjusting? My car is a 1978 SC that I have had for less than a week, and it is great, but the mirror thing is a mystery.

The Owner's manual says 'right above the ignition switch' as does the internet and I have even seen pictures of where it is supposed to be, but it is not there on my car. I asked the PO and he does not remember how to adjust the passenger side mirror.

Could it be that the car was delivered with a driver's-side mirror only, and the passenger-side was added at a later date w/o power?

Thanks in advance for any clues!

You likely had a previous owner add the RH mirror, it was optional and would have had the under dash switch. I bought one for mine, didn’t paint or install it yet but the mirror glass seems stiff enough to hold up to door slams and pretty much “set and forget” by hand, so I won’t bother with adding power for it. I never did remove the door card to even see if there’s a wire loom and the connectors inside for the RH mirror.

Also, I have a sunroof and the vertical rocker switch for it is located above the cutout portion that’s circled to the left of the ignition. To the right of the ignition, there’s a slot cutout but it’s covered with the dash vinyl material for the horizontal mirror rocker switch.

Thanks, EC900! I adjusted the mirror by hand, hopefully not stripping any little plastic gears in the process. Someday I will check inside of the door and see if the mirror wiring harness is connected. But as long as the mirror holds its position, I don't think that I would bother connecting the remote anyway.
