Priming the MFI...?

Our 911E is ready for starting after many years,

When the key is turned on, it takes just a second or two for fuel to reach the injection pump....but cranking the engine for a few seconds doesn't produce any fuel at the injectors.....despite the fact that the injection pump was recently professionally rebuilt.

Does it take a bit for it to get primed?

Just for the sake of Archiving,

Yes it does. I took me about 15 minutes of cranking, but you can take a big rubber band and a drill to prime it.

(Thanks Tyson)

Thanks!

Thanks again,

I did a search on MFI and couldn't find it, must not have been looking hard enough.

I'm a little nervous about cranking so long as the car has already stripped one flywheel...

hmm... I'd say try the rubber band trick with that iffy starter (it did get fixed though didn't it?)

The trick is first mentioned under this thread from when I started my car.
