Still sitting on my lift

Out of frustration my car is still up on the lift. I have been unable to get the start switch back in the dash. Jumble of wires makes it very difficult to see what's going on. Soo yesterday I again tried to get the ignition switch mounted. In frustration, the problem is the shaft that goes to the steering column with a switch to lock the column when the key is off, anyway I took it out, put it in my vice and cut it off. Who cares if the column is locked when the key is off.

But I did get the ignition switch mounted and today I'll figure out which two plugs go where on the firewall. Then I'll figure out why I only get 7.5v at the starter from the ignition switch. Push comes to shove, I'll just wire in a start switch with 12v direct to the starter solenoid.

Little late but if you remove the plate with the rivets it goes in pretty easy.

Hey Kent, been a while since we went for lunch with Paul Abbott in Salem!

Furthest right (when behind the wheel) female plug on firewall is ignition.
Moving left is wipers then signals.
PM me your number and I’ll call and walk you through some things to check for the voltage problems with a meter.

If you have low voltage at the starter in the wire from the ignition switch check the 14 pin plug at the relay board in the engine compartment. Pin 1 is the one to check.

I recently replaced my ignition switch due to a non-starting car. I found the easiest access was to remove the driver’s seat and then to lie on my back with my head under the dash and in feet in the back seat area.
