Vertical steering wheel play after swapping steering wheel

Removed my OEM steering wheel, and installed a MOMO Prototipo Black Edition. And after installing, the steering wheel has vertical play slightly. Up and down only. The end of the bolt in the photo moves with the steering wheel when it moves. Do i need to tighten these? Only reason i could see it being lose after install is i used an impact and the vibration could have caused it to come loose. But i dont know. Need advice

There is an easy bearing you can install, 10 minute fix.

The part i put in my SC was a upgraded part for a 928 metal not plastic. P/N- 92834773902 available from our host.

There was a discussion here a few years back about the 928 sleeve. I believe it was John Walker who brought up the issue. The Rennline unit solves that problem.

What was the issue ?

I have said bushing and a plan to install - I'd too like to understand the called out issue before I proceed.

i posted a while ago about steering shaft wear from metal bushings. grease those things on the inside with something like opti-moly or the grease that comes with ignition points. i've seen severe wear on 2 shafts to date.

The 928 sleeve has a lip you can pry under to work it outward. Most just slipped in with a couple light taps. To replace the bearing, you have to remove the whole upper housing. not an easy job, so best to avoid that. I've seen a few steering shafts worn from rotating for years in that steel bushing, so check that.
