Vertical steering wheel play after swapping steering wheel

Removed my OEM steering wheel, and installed a MOMO Prototipo Black Edition. And after installing, the steering wheel has vertical play slightly. Up and down only. The end of the bolt in the photo moves with the steering wheel when it moves. Do i need to tighten these? Only reason i could see it being lose after install is i used an impact and the vibration could have caused it to come loose. But i dont know. Need advice

There is an easy bearing you can install, 10 minute fix.

There was a discussion here a few years back about the 928 sleeve. I believe it was John Walker who brought up the issue. The Rennline unit solves that problem.

I have said bushing and a plan to install - I'd too like to understand the called out issue before I proceed.

To replace the bearing, you have to remove the whole upper housing. not an easy job, so best to avoid that. I've seen a few steering shafts worn from rotating for years in that steel bushing, so check that.
