Help: AC and power seats quit working at same time
I have an '87 911 and last night I started the car with the AC in the "II" position - normally I turn it off before starting the car. Just after the engine was running the AC quit blowing. I pulled the fuse (no. 2 in the fuse box) and it was fine, but I put a new one in just in case. I restarted the car and still no AC. The AC and power seat fuse are the same so I tried the seats (4-way)and they will not move (they worked this weekend). Any ideas what else I can check? Thanks.

Heck, I’m only 5 not 71!

If the fuse is good you might have lost the 12 volts to that circuit. You need to put a voltmeter between the fuse terminal and ground to see if the battery voltage is there.

This just happened to me yesterday....yep, even the fuse looked OK like yours did.
I still took the fuse out, and *really* cleaned the fuse contacts, and also bent the tabs a bit because the fuse wasn't held very tight. checked continuity on both old a new fuses and both were good. Replaced fuse just as a precaution. You might get the same result by simply rotating the fuse back and forth on the holder. Now it's OK ![]() ---Wil Ferch

Wait a minute, your a/c worked?
After a complete rebuild, mine's working real good until OAT is above mid 80's. Then it starts sucking.

DP,
How are things at NUMA? Describing an AC as "working" is always relative. The AC in my '70 Barracuda Gran Coupe convertible "worked", but didn't "cool". With my 911, the AC was working until the day the heatwave arrived. targa80 and Wil Ferch - thanks for the suggestions - I will revisit the fuse block and connections tonight. Al Giordino |

Same problem with me about a week ago. Had to bend the tab back in to insure good pressure on the fuse. Fixed mine immediately even though it "looked" like it was contacting.
