2,2 Engine Question
Greeting Pelicans,
It's been a while since I've been on the site but I'm finally getting back to freshening up my 70 T after a year of tear down to get my tranny overhauled after I screwed it up....long story.... The question I have is......... the motor's been sitting in my garage for a year. It was running fine when I pulled it out. Before I put it back in the car is there anything you'd reccommend I do? The cars vitually original and a weekend cruiser. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Dirty Marty Fallbrook,Ca http://forums.pelicanparts.com/suppo...leys/roker.gif |
I don't think that you will have any problems with the engine itself. Fuel system maybe. I hope that you use ethanol free fuel and that you drained the carbs. E10 will damage a carb if it sits for an extended period. Flush out any old gas. Now would be a good time to replace all the fuel lines with modern hose if you haven't already done so. And use proper fuel line clamps.

Thanks Gamin, The fuel line change out is a great idea.......I was going to rebuild the charbs as well.
