2,2 Engine Question
Greeting Pelicans,
It's been a while since I've been on the site but I'm finally getting back to freshening up my 70 T after a year of tear down to get my tranny overhauled after I screwed it up....long story.... The question I have is......... the motor's been sitting in my garage for a year. It was running fine when I pulled it out. Before I put it back in the car is there anything you'd reccommend I do? The cars vitually original and a weekend cruiser. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Dirty Marty Fallbrook,Ca ![]() |

I don't think that you will have any problems with the engine itself. Fuel system maybe. I hope that you use ethanol free fuel and that you drained the carbs. E10 will damage a carb if it sits for an extended period. Flush out any old gas. Now would be a good time to replace all the fuel lines with modern hose if you haven't already done so. And use proper fuel line clamps.
