Wire loom in engine compartment question

I had my mechanic put in a new distributor green wire. He stripped off the protective wrap from the wires to exposure more green wire. There’s a 8” patch of wired without any wrapping
I assume the heat isnt good for the wires and I should wrap this. I rather not use something that will turn into a sticky mess or melt…..what is recommended? Am I right I shouldn’t leave them unwrapped so close to a ton of heat? |

I’m sure you’ve had plenty of experience. What is your take on this vs Tesa tape? CTopher |

Depends on the variety of Tesa tape. Has a good name but expensive.
The one I posted is very good and very similar to what Porsche used. |

Thanks for the link Dennis. I just ordered a roll as well

Most of the 69-83 cars only have small amounts of cloth tape. Mainly on the through body harness to tape off unused Sportomatic wires and to Seal up the rubber protector as they come out of the tunnel. Usually installed by the installer. |

 Need wiring supplies

		Dennis,
I've seen several posts you've made on wiring. I see you build harnesses, but do you also sell bulk wire, connectors, and boots? I've just started on a 76 Targa that has been neglected for years. I need to go through all of the wiring, as much is brittle and broken. thanks in advance, Mac |
