German/european coveralls

I've been looking for some coveralls like I've seen in a few 911 videos on YouTube of Ruf's shop. I don't want the tan redneck Carhartt ones, I want these:

http://www.berufsbekleidung-lehmann.de/catalog/Arbeitskleidung/H.+Latzhose+1413.html?osCsid=89a8afb4e7e960b9a790c 357ad33847c

http://www.degerloch.de/a-hausburg/dbshop/assets/s2dmain.htm?http://www.degerloch.de/a-hausburg/dbshop/handwerkindustrie/latzhosen/index.htm

Are these available anywhere in the US??

My nephew brought me a nifty pair from Finland but it would be nice to find a similar type in the States... (?)

These are mine (worn by my wife on the pic). Factory Porsche overalls from Stuttgart as worn by the mechanics!

Guess it is time for an overalls thread -- that is more technical than whining about people asking you to do a search....

I'm telling you.....
A lot of people would be interested in getting a set of those Porsche overalls.
A lot!
Somewhat should investigate and put together a group buy for other Pelican heads.

I don't think Porsche knew from "branding" coveralls at the dawn of the '70s, but clearly the workers have been wearing them or similar for decades. Check out this video and what the factory folks are wearing (part of a factory series) that Jack Olsen posted on YouTube.

And hell, yes, I'll take a pair if someone figures out how to source those. Handy for both the shop and road trips.

Doug,

The factory overalls cannot be purchased, I looked into it for years. Luckily my wife (who is German) had a friend of a friend of a friend (see what I'm getting at ) who worked at Porsche in Stuttgart and was able to get me a genuine pair from a mechanic. So I'm extremely lucky to have those. I keep them in a safe surrounded by gun turrets!

If one found a source for the overalls, finding someone to do the embroidery shouldn't be all that difficult.

It looks like what we need is for one of our European friends on this board to organize a group buy.

Or, Wayne could contact A.Pierburg about being a supplier to Pelican?

Except for the fact that it is completely illegal!
Porsche is very serious about these kinds of things. There was one overall posted for sale on eBay a while back and the listing was pulled by eBay right away.
My wife has access to the regular German overalls and we could probably buy a bunch of those and have them shipped to the US though.

coveralls

I just purchased some work overalls on my last trip to Austria. I tell you, you can't find any thing close in quality in North America.

Axeman, I'm in if you guys are willing to do that. A nice A Pierburg pair in green for me, please. Just like the workers are wearing in the RUF videos on YouTube.

I would still be in too. If I want to have a certain name embroidered, I can source that locally.

MJ,

I contacted one of the suppliers this AM in the above link and they told me they do not ship to the US.

If you could organize something (I'd happy to help in any way), that may be the only avenue to get them here.

Call me tomorrow (or send an e-mail, anytime).
