3.2 Injector Seals

Doing some preventive maintenance, seals, TOD, fuel lines, etc. Wondering if my 38 year old injector seals/0-rings should be replaced or injectors serviced? Runs fine, only 36k miles and no sign of leaks at injectors but...am I on borrowed time?
TIA for any replies

Replaced mine a couple of years ago due to an intermittent leak. (86 3.2) All the o-rings were quite hard and deformed; the leaking one was visibly cracked/torn. Forty years of exposure to the heat above an air cooled engine definitely impacts their lifespan. Seems like the seal kit was only a few $. ‘Standard’ brand on Rock Auto worked perfectly for me and included the little cone used to install them easily and prevent damage.

I would send the injectors out for cleaning, new o rings and paint.

I sent mine out to RC Fuel Injection where I had them cleaned and tested.

The results after cleaning are great, and they repainted the injectors nicely.

Note in the report below how badly the injectors were performing.

+1 for RC Fuel Injection - they did a great job on my tired injectors. Just don’t let them sit on the shelf too long before reinstalling. There are reports of refurbished injectors becoming inoperable after sitting too long.

I've used "Mr Injector" for hundreds of rehabbed injectors. Quick and reliable. No charge for failed injectors.

I ended up using ProFlowhttps://www.proflowtech.com/ for the service on the injectors in my Supercharged 928. I was satisfied with their service, but haven't used any of the others suggested, so don't know how they compare.

Sent mine from my '88 Carrera to RC. DEFINITELY helped it run better and they replaced the o rings as part of the service. Could not be happier.
