*CAUTION* Dirty pictures below....
My brake calipers have seen better days from enduring so many years of abuse out on street and track. And while they're still performing ok, I'd figure it best to go ahead and have them professionally refurbished/refinished and not wait for a near disaster or failure to act. That said, I've been researching reputable shops to perform this work and finally landed on PMB performance out of UT. Anyone else have experience with them? It appears they have quite an extensive process and method that is tried and true for refinishing. Nonetheless, wanted to share my before and after experience and report back with updates in case anyone else is planning to go this same route. Here's info on the service they provide: https://pmbperformance.com/products/copy-of-4-piston-alloy-caliper-restoration-1 More to follow soon... Cheers. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]()

Hey I just ordered a set from PMB this week to replace my Carrera calipers (I’m using the ‘return core for refund’ option). Also having them paint mine silver. good luck.

PMB does EXCELLENT work. I sent a set of crusty calipers to them that came off of a 911 that had been sitting in a field for over 5 years. They are better than brand new now.

Tis a thing of Beauty! Thanks to the team at PMB for such an amazing job on the restoration art. Now I've got to install and potentially get them dirty. Oh no!! ;P

WOW, just cruised their site... they have a caliper re-build guide, which is great... but what I am VERY interested in is their Brembo 4piston caliper kits for all four wheels. At around 4-5k for everything needed, this is going on my build sheet.
https://pmbperformance.com/collections/brembo-calipers Anyone have experience with their kits? Not going full race mode, but want adequate modern stopping power on long cruises. |

I wish I had known about them. I just paid 4400 for front and back, 67. Bearings included with the rebuild and pads. I've come to the conclusion I'm going to buy my own lift. I'm also lucky with enough shop space for it. I'll start a new thread when I get it back.

Bill V may chip in - I seem to recall him a while back saying that there were 2-3 generations of GT kits offered by Brembo, and at least some of them (the later ones, IIRC) were very front-biased. To the point where they're not a slam-dunk "that'll do nicely" choice for a 911, where ideally you want 1.4:1, 1.5:1 for a lowered, stiff car with an LSD. Some complain that factory 930 brakes (at 1.6:1) are too front biased for really efficient, balanced braking.

Cliyde, What calipers and rotors are you using on the rear? Those look great.

Beautiful! I have only ordered small parts from PMB and they have always been super helpful. Glad to see their restoration work is top tier. Today, its hard to find quality work, even when you pay for it!

993RS and 993tt rear are the same caliper except for piston sizes RS are 30/36 tt are 28/28 to use these in back of a 911 the stock axial mounting ears need to be machined off and then new radial mounting holes drilled. left stock 993tt 28/28, right modified 993RS 30/36 w/ caliper adaptor for 911 rear Mine are on modified 993RS 28x322mm rear rotors to retain the parking brake, but that's a whole other story and not for amateurs ![]() same as above but w/ stock 993RS/tt front added to right ![]() top vies of the same ![]() mounted on the car ![]() bias of a stock SC is 1.491 and just about prefect for most purposes bias of a stock '78-89 930 is 1.579 a little front biased bias of a stock 993RS is 1.426 again just about perfect for most uses bias of a stock 993tt is 1.997 very front biased bias of 993tt setup w/ 993RS/tt frt rotors and 930 rear rotors is 2.132 very front biased front bias is ok for street use but very undesirable for track use, I really wouldn't want to go below 1.4x even for track use
